SNOW WHITE 2 – The Ultimate Family Stage Show

‘Snow White 2 – Happy Ever After?’ is a family-friendly stage show, which acts as a seamless sequel to the original Grimm brothers’ fairytale. It tells us of the dramatic events which unfold shortly after Snow White is found in the forest by the Prince.

Inspired by classic sketches from The Two Ronnies, Monty Python and Laurel & Hardy; ‘Snow White 2’ combines many elements of comedy farce (through word-play and inevitable misunderstandings) with a twisty but easy-to-follow plot, singing and a thrilling finale.

‘Snow White 2’ retains all of the much-loved characters from the original story and includes a few more – to add further depth and dramatic intrigue to the storyline.

SNOW WHITE 2 Script Excerpt

(The Wicked Queen enterspretending to be an old lady. Whenever we see her, she is carrying a basket of apples.)

Wicked Queen

Oh, I’m so sorry. Am I interrupting something? Well, never mind. You, Huntsman. I need you to go into the forest and look for more red spotted toadstools for me.

Rupert

Which one?

Wicked Queen

Which what?

Rupert

Which forest?

Wicked Queen

There aren’t that many forests in England, are there?

Rupert

Well, let me see. (counts slowly on fingers) Of course you’ve got … Epping Forest … and err … New Forest … Grizedale … Blengdale … Ennerdale and Marston Vale …

Wicked Queen

Erm, yes.

Rupert

(gradually speeding up) Collingwood, Charnwood, Greenwood, Heartwood. Dodd Wood, Selwood, Pricklewood and Cricklewood …

Wicked Queen

(getting frustrated) Umm!

Rupert

(faster) Dog Wood, Dead Wood, Sandal Wood and Tangle Wood. Yew Wood, Eye Wood, Soft Wood, Hard Wood, Ply Wood and Goodwood. (super fast) Sherwood, Wychwood, Rose Wood, Hollywood, Bollywood and Ronnie Wood. (beat) I could go on?

(Both look at each other for a couple of seconds, not knowing what to say.)

Wicked Queen

Well, this is awkward.

Rupert

No, this is the Magic Wood!

Wicked Queen

(under her breath) Nincompoop.

Ida-Lotta

What did you say?

Wicked Queen

I said … “Chicken soup” – how I’d love some. If you wouldn’t mind, my dear woman. Now, Huntsman, where is that black cat of yours?

Rupert

(puzzled) On my head.

Wicked Queen

What are you talking about?

Rupert

My black hat is on my head.

Wicked Queen

No – Black cat!

Rupert

(slowly) Yes – this is my black hat.

Wicked Queen

(exasperated) Oh, never mind! (she sweeps off) Black cat! Black cat!! Black cat!!!

Ida-Lotta

See what I mean? You need to sort this out, Rupert.

(Ida exits in a huff. Rupert looks longingly after her.)
